External Access and port forwarding
« on: February 22, 2016, 04:38:44 PM »

So I'm trying to set up my DNR-202L for external use. Right now its defaulting to 80 and it seems to work fine, but I want to use port 80 for my router - so I tried changing the port of the DNR a few times. No matter what I try - the DNR just starts beeping every 20 seconds - like it does when he reacquires a camera. And when I try to access at that port externally - it doesn't work. What I am missing?

As a side note - I'm trying to set up my two cameras a DCS-933 and 931 for external access using other ports and can't seem to get that to work either. I've read it looks at ports 80 and 443 - does that mean that those are the only two ports that can be used for the DNR? I've tried 443 as well and it does the same thing with the beeping and not connecting.
