Title: Issue with DCS-6620G
Post by: toms110 on October 16, 2016, 09:23:40 AM
My DCS-6620G stopped working. At first I was able to reset using the reset button and then access via the installation wizard.  But, accessing via the installation wizard produced a connection time-out and I could not reconfigure the camera.  Now the camera is inoperable and does not respond in any way to power off's or resetting.  The red and blue lights are lit constant when powered on but the camera is inaccessible and motionless.

Any suggestions

Probably 8 years.  Its always been an inside camera.

Does the IP address appear on the main host router under the connected DHCP client table?
Might check the power adapter for the camera and make sure it's out putting correct voltages seen on the sticker...If this camera is this old, possibly the power adapter maybe faulty.

The camera had a static ip address assigned.  I started loosing connection to it a few days ago.  Hard rebooted each time to correct the issue.  Then the hard boots no longer worked.  Did a factory reset  and was able to access via the Dlink config utility.  Then attempted to install the latest firmware.  The firmware installation failed and that was the last time it was operable.  I'll check the power supply.

Can try this:
Emergency Recovery Mode (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=44909.msg163599#msg163599)
Not sure if this model camera supports recovery mode being that old.  :-\

If you can't get it going, I presume the camera maybe bricked.

Use IE or FF for doing FW updates.

Tried emergency recovery mode but no effect.  I'll try to rule out the power supply.

The issue was the power supply.  Voltage on power supply that came with the camera was fluctuating and poor.  Connected camera to a different and tested good power supply and all is good.  Thanks for the help.
