Dgl-4500 blocking xbox live ports.
« on: August 13, 2008, 05:01:14 PM »

I have a DGL-4500 with 1.12 firmware, with upnp on and SPI off. My logs says this: Blocked incoming UDP packet from 76.211.66.50:3074 to 75.6.183.184:3074
Is there a problem?

You need to open up port 3074 (TCP & UDP) as well as port 88 (UDP) on the firewall for Xbox Live to work correctly.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/908874

You can do this in the router setup easily by:
  • Log into the router
  • Select Advanced at the top
  • Select Gaming on the left
  • Enable Gaming rule
  • Select Xbox Live in the dropdown by Name
  • Enter the IP address for your computer
  • Select Add
  • Save Settings

Hopefully this helps.

Try it...If it doesn't work then you know that it is another issue.

I can say that my Xbox would not connect to Xbox Live until I added the rule. This was not the case with 1.02.

This is weird, I disabled upnp and added the port forwarding ports for XBL, now it says i couldn't even connect to xbox live. With upnp on I could connect and have open nat, but sometimes block some of xbox live connections.

I have UPNP enabled and just added a gaming rule for my Xbox. After doing that, I have been able to connect with no problems. I also reflashed my box twice two see if it would help and I was still unable to connect without the rule.

make sure that you set your device IP as static before forwarding ports...

With the release of 1.12, I have had nothing but problems with UPNP. I'm to the point were I don't think its functioning at all. I have had to open ports for many of my network services which I have never had to do before. This was all functioning perfect with 1.02.
