Title: WoL - Setting Broadcast ip(*.*.*.255) in virtual server
Post by: leithianz on September 12, 2017, 07:26:43 AM
Hi all.
I've searched and searched this topic for full 12-hours and still have no solution at all.

My wol setting works very well. It works good within same network(that is, under same router).
But when it goes in to internet, it works for a brief moment.

That is why we should send magic packet to broadcast ip right? Becuase pc's ip only holds brief moment in ram after power is turnned off.
So when signaled, router must use broadcast ip to send magic packet to all pc's under the router.

But the problem is, my setting won't let me set the ip for wake-on-lan in virtual server.
If setted to 192.168.0.255 it gives me an alert saying "Host IP you typed is out of range" something similar to that. (sorry it's Korean)

I've already tried http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=16404.15 (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=16404.15) but was no good.

Is there anyone successfully managed WoL function with 850L?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations

Is there any WoL presets in the Advanced Port Forwarding, Triggering or Virtual Server menus? Tried Virtual Server configurations?

Some D-Link home routers don't support the broadcast IP addresss thus not supporting of WoL.
