Cannot isolate Guest SSID from Primary SSID
« on: June 07, 2018, 05:55:39 AM »

Hi,

Even I enabled Guest mode, Guest SSID clients can still communicate with the Primary SSID. Check the picture.
What else should I config?

I'm from Romania and don't have a local phone support here. If you can help me with phone number .....
Thanks !

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DAP? Look at the sticker under the DAP.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DAPs web page under status.

What do you mean by still communicate with primary SSID? That can see it? Or access it?

H/W Ver. A2
F/W ver: 1.11 with update to 1.15

Communicate means that Users of Guest SSID can PING and access local network or other Primary SSID users. There is no isolation between the GUEST and Primary SSID.

I did it like in this link http://www.dlink.cc/d-link-wireless/how-to-setup-multi-ssid-with-vlans-on-d-link-busines-class-access-point-dap-2553.html
And after that, I couldn't connect to the DAP in any network (primary or guest) so I had to reset it and in that moment, GUEST users still access local network.
If you can tell me what config should I make so the Primary SSID can access local network and Guest SSID only to have internet without local network access ....
My DAP doesn't have DHCP enabled. IP's for users are obtained from the router in front of DAP.

Thanks !
