Title: DCS-930L Can't get on-line access!!
Post by: palikari on July 05, 2011, 12:46:28 AM
I bought and hooked up my DCS-930L camera last week. Have since traveled overseas and go to Mydlink website, log-in and then it tries to install a java applet that never does install. It shows the security box where it asks me to run and then it shows another security box with a message: java.io.FileNotFoundException:C:\users\myname\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\security\trusted.certs(Access is denied)

I click ok and the java applet never loads. It just keeps saying Installing Java Applet. I really need to get this working and any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Are you using Firefox? I encountered the same issue on Firefox, while mydlink worked fine on Internet Explorer.

To add to the mystery, after a a few weeks, mydlink inexplicably started working on Firefox without error. My thinking here was there was an update that remedied the issue.

Hi there, i have a question too regarding DSC-930L.

I'm one the authors/journalist of Croatian ICT magazine Vidi and i've just got this interesting piece of hardware to test, but unfortunately i got stuck right at the begining.

I'm using Siemens SE555 as my router/DSL modem, and at the part where the D-Link Setup Wizard is supposed to find my camera so i can proceed with instal, it can't be found.

DSC-930L was/is connected via the contributed Ethernet cable which was in the box with the router, the LED is green on it (DSC-930L), all my firewalls/antivirus are OFF on router and in Windows 7, DHCP is ON on router, everything is as it should be, but strangely the device is not appearing in D-Link Setup Wizard (http://img.techpowerup.org/110706/Capture102.png) and in my status (with it's MAC address and aquired DHCP IP address) of connected devices in router too (maybe there is something wrong).

Any ideas?

TIA!

Was the device used prior to you receiving it? If so, you may want to try resetting the DCS-930L to the factory defaults. While powered-up, insert a paperclip in the pinhole in the rear of the camera for 7 seconds or so. Then try walking through the setup process again.

Yes it was, but i already did the factory reset, but with no results.  ???

EDIT: I've tried another port on the router and it worked!

Thanks alot anyways, now i'm going to elaborte this product in detail. :)

If you are reviewing the product, one glaring gap in the DCS-930L (and DCS-932L) is that the only way to add the camera to mydlink is to walk through the wizard. If the device gets dissociated with mydlink (which happens from time to time), the camera must be wiped and reconfigured from scratch using the wizard just to add the device to mydlink. There is no manual method to add the camera to mydlink. This is a major design flaw.
