AFAICT, the D-Link cameras have only 2.4 GHz radios, which serves any of the 3 protocols b/g/n
If n is important to you, maybe your router can do n on 2.4 GHz?
Our NetGear does this.

He's just worried about not seeing his 5Ghz.

Which as you pointed out, isn't going to happen.  It's definitely not necessary either.

hi, i'am not worried about seeing the 5ghz network,
i'am worried  about the dual networks working
because i would like to seperate the two camera's
they are supose to be wireless n , that is what a
dual band wireless(n) router is supose to do
have two seperate networks wireless n 5ghz
and wireless g 2.4ghz so you can use more device's.

Ummm, yeah right.

IEEE 802.11
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
IEEE 802.11 is a set of standards for implementing wireless local area network (WLAN) computer communication in the 2.4, 3.6, 5 and 60 GHz frequency bands. They are created and maintained by the IEEE LAN/MAN Standards Committee (IEEE 802). The base version of the standard was released in 1997 and has had subsequent amendments. These standards provide the basis for wireless network products using the Wi-Fi brand.

come on player - even the newer cameras don't operate on 5 ghz   :o :o :o

hi again, all that info is great but my point is, if d-link claims
the cameras are wireless 802.11n & 802.11g compliant then
they should at least see and work on my wireless n network
no matter what the speed right, i'am not a tech are anything
i understand that only newer divice's work on wireless n like
my htc windows 8x phone it see's and works on both?

to put it basically, the dlink camera only uses 2.4 ghz which is wireless N.

Your other products are newer and more awesome, and have newer dual 2.4/5 ghz.

Your router can handle more than 2 cameras easily at 2.4 Ghz, so no need to separate.

If the 932 only supports only 2.4Ghz then they should appear in the 2.4Ghz WiFi list accessible thru the 815 router and will not show any 5Ghz support. The 932 is supporting of all WiFi modes listed here:
http://www.dlink.com/us/en/home-solutions/view/network-cameras/dcs-932l-day-night-cloud-camera

Preferred router settings would be WPA2 and AES only.

It will only use one mode at a time based on distance, range, and signal strength. One reason that your seeing G mode is maybe due to distances or other conditions. So the connections are falling back to a better mode.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!  :o

Wireless N started out on 2.4Ghz...

Even my DCS-2230 and 2132L only sees my 2.4GHz network and not the 5Ghz.

so the cameras are not 802.11n compliant?

To achieve maximum output, a pure 802.11n 5 GHz network is recommended. The 5 GHz band has substantial capacity due to many non-overlapping radio channels and less radio interference as compared to the 2.4 GHz band.[6] An 802.11n-only network may be impractical for many users because they need to support legacy equipment that still is 802.11b/g only. Consequently, it may be more practical in the short term to operate a mixed 802.11b/g/n network until 802.11n hardware becomes more prevalent. In a mixed-mode system, an optimal solution would be to use a dual-radio access point and place the 802.11b/g traffic on the 2.4 GHz radio and the 802.11n traffic on the 5 GHz radio.[7] This setup assumes that all the 802.11n clients are 5 GHz capable, which isn't a requirement of the standard. A technique called "band steering" is used by some enterprise-grade APs to send 802.11n clients to the 5 GHz band, leaving the 2.4 GHz band for legacy clients. Band steering works by responding only to 5 GHz association requests and not the 2.4 GHz requests from dual-band clients

that's all i wanted to know

thanks

Do this as a test, set the 815 router to single mode N, WPA2 and AES only, 20/40Mhz and see what they connect at.

ok wireless n , but now my htc 8x phone can only see 1 network at lower mbps
if you look at my earlier post i had getto network 2 54mbps and getto network 3 150mbps
