Help, mydlink lite app serious bug
« on: April 02, 2017, 05:36:36 AM »

I have total 6 drink cameras, both 936L and 2630L. They worked fine with recording but not playback.

MicroSD playback only works in web interface and android mydlink lite but not IOS app for me.
I used uPnP for port forwarding and made sure there was no overlap of ports.
Tried uninstall and reinstall the iOS app but still doesn't work.
Reset my router still doesn't work.

I can only see the list of recorded videos in iOS app but when I enter any one of them a dark screen shows up.
Any clue?
Thank you in advance.

I'd phone contact D-Link support about this. There maybe some cameras that the app doesn't support. I know playback is supported on the iOS app though.

Does this happen when you are connecting remotely and/or locally?

If it works locally but not remotely:

- what mobile carrier are you using?
- What is the exact version of iOS and what model device are you using?
- What model router are you using? If D-Link what firmware version is it?

Hi GreenBay, thank you for your reply.

1. It does not work on any of my iOS devices, including iPhone 6s, iPad Pro and iPad mini. (iOS ver. 10.2.1)
2. I'm using a carrier in Hong Kong (1010). Even with wifi connections (both remote and local settings in mydlink app), the playback does not work.
3. I tried both Synology RT2600ac and netgear R7000, both cannot get it to work.
4. With the same router and carrier, android app is working perfectly. So by deduction, it has to be the iOS app problem.

Thank you in advance!
Best regards,
Nelson

It is strange that local playback isn't even working. I am assuming live video works normal on your ios devices?

Try setting video recording to MP4 (log in to camera with browser > SETUP > SD Recording > set file format to MP4). Click save settings.  After the camera has recorded new video see if the new files work. AVI will not play on iOS by default.

How long after you "play" a video do you give it before closing it? Try waiting 2-3 minutes to see if it eventually plays. Do you ever get an error message?

GreenBay42, thanks for your prompt reply.

I tried both MP4 and avi, both are not working. Live video is working fine on the other hand.
With android and web interface, playback works...

When I choose playback on my iOS, I can only see the list of recordings but no thumbnails. When I click in, black screen for 5 mins before I closed it.
There's no error message at all.
Thank you!

This isn't just you, I'm having the exact same issue. I have reported this to support and am disappointed that there doesn't seem to be an immediate resolution in sight. Maybe this is reason for some optimism though…

Thank you for the prompt reply. My apologies but this had already been relayed and as of the moment Engineering is working on a fix. As of today, we don't have any updates yet.

Thank you for networking with D-Link .

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DCS? Look at the sticker behind or under the camera.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?

So you are having playback problems in the mydlink Lite app?
Please give more details...
