Title: Motion detected and SMS push message
Post by: gollnick on October 30, 2016, 07:20:28 AM
Hello.. looking and looking. I see where I can send email to an address on motion being detected. Issue is I am not near email service when this might occur. Is it possible to send an SMS text to my cell phone instead??

Thanks

What product are you referring too. SMS is not supported on any D-Link devices.

Dcs5010L. .. just wondering.   Are there any work a rounds? ?. Seems rather pointless when 80% of your time you have no access to email. .. just sms

What are you using? A pager?  ::)    Any smart phone has email access, no?  Set up a GMAIL or something specific to the device.

Anyways - I'm not sure who your SMS is with - but most providers have some email address which will send to your SMS.   You'll have to google that up.  Like "Sprint email SMS" or something.

This is a 2005 article, so your mileage may vary:

I don't think the percentage is that high for users with email on there phones. I have email all the time unless I'm out of cell phone signal range which isn't often.
