Link>Welcome!

  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded?
  • What region are you located?

I would set up a static IP address on the router thats out side of hot main host routers IP address pool, i.e. 192.168.0.34 or .45.

PC 3rd Party Security Software Configurations
  • Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.

PC Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.

I would walk thru, use wizards if possible, using a Windows PC and IE11 first and see how it goes. Use the users manual to guide you and help with information.

I recommend setting up a Static IP address first off on the DNS. I personally use 192.168.0.34 for mine. You can use .45 or something easy for you to remember and thats not inside your routers default DHCP IP address pool. It needs to be outside of the pool. Most D-Link routers default pool are 192.168.0.100 thru .199.

The DNS needs to be connect to a router as it needs DHCP IP address services from the router. You can use a switch in between the router and DNS as well which is preferred to help limit any un-necessary router processing. You can connect your wired PC to the switch as well. Set up a IP address reservation for the PC ON the router.

Set the Static IP address ON the DNS, set up the Reservation IP address ON the router.

What Mfr and model# is the main host router?

Remove the IP address configuration from the main host router and set up the Static IP address ON the DNS using it's web page. Just leave the DNS set to DHCP on the main host router so it gets an IP address. Use that dynamic IP address it gets to connect to the DNS's web page. Once there, go in and set a Static IP address ON the DNS. Static IP address should be 192.168.1.34, Gateway will be the IP address of your main host router, so if it's 192.168.1.254, use that. Subnet Mask will be the same as what the Main Host router uses, I presume 255.255.255.0
