Where did you get this at?  ???

I didn't get any such survey.  :(

On another subject, did any of you get an online survey from D-Link about what kind of router you may be interested in in the future?  They basically wanted to know how much you'd want to spend on a router (with a high-end limit of $200).

Shoot, after this great router, I'd gladly spend $200 on a high performance one like it!

They emailed it to me.  I looked for it in my Trash folder but it's not there anymore.  :(

I registered my 4500 and I think left a box checked that asked me if I wanted to participate in surveys.  I think it was D-Link but may have been Linksys.   :P

This is a weird thing.

OK, I put in a Tenda 322P Wireless N PCI card that I got from Meritline.com for $16.

Well, I have a micro MOBO and the outputs for the video card are right above the wireless PCI card.

I kept thinking I was having hardware/software issues with the PCI card because the computer would run slowly and my mouse would stop moving temporarily.

The issue was that the PCI card antennas (2) will cause some kind of interference if they're right next to the video out.  But if I point them out horizontally instead of vertically, I don't get those quirky issues.

Seriously is that screwed up or what???  Who would have thought that the PCI card antennas orientation would cause such weird things to happen?

Whoda thunk...interesting that angle and even signal is interfering with video signals...totally different. However possible.

Received my 3rd 4500 yesterday, A2 HW FW v1.21NA loaded. I'm on dialup. Can someone help me get it set up? I'm on WiFi and want to use the 430Mb connection. It's connecting but no internet.

Yea, thats pretty weird. Another thing you might want to try is a external antenna for the PCI card. You will need to do research which one is compatible. but once you have it it couldn't be easier to install. Unscrew current antenna, screw in new on that has a wire that goes to a antenna that you tape to <insert convience antenna place here>

Harry, funny you should link that.  I actually have 1 of the 1 ft. long antennas and one of the stubby, shorter types with the cord.

Unfortunately, on this brand, Tenda, the antennas are permanently attached.  they swivel but the lead wires look to be soldered.  I'll double check later to verify, though.

Hmm, its complicated though. I think only some of the antennas are active in different modes. IE, if NIMO is active, it needs all three. Also, I have taken off two of the three antenna, and seen only a small decrease in signal. I think the one closest to the power adapter is the main one when using G only. Don't quote me on that. I have never had accurate enough equipment to test.

Does anybody want/need some wireless-G PCI cards?  I have 3 I will give away.  I upgraded to wireless N so I don't need them.

They are standard size, but one will fit in a compact computer case.  I just used Windows to install the drivers and then did a Windows update and it found the most current one.  They work fine and have been stable in our computers.
