ftp upload to public folder on NAS
« on: June 12, 2014, 04:02:02 AM »

Hi guys!

I can't get this problem resolved:
I'm using a DCS-5020L and want to upload pictures to my NAS (Seagate Central) via ftp.
Since my gf and i want to see the pictures while we're on the way, the only solution the Seagate Central provides me is to place the pictures in the public folder.

So, i created a folder inside the public folder called "Camera".
The settings ask for a username and password. Since the public folder has no, i left the fields blank.
But that didn't work. The D-Link settings require a username/password.
Is there any chance i can upload the pictures to the public folder with my user credentials on the Seagate Central?
If so, what is correct path i've to put in?

Btw. the upload works fine if i put in my username and password for the Seagate Central and point the upload to the home folder of my user account. So the ftp connection must be ok.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Marcus

You probably have the folder wrong. Log in via ftp and see what the path is. Or ask Seagate support.

I've never heard of no username for ftp. Maybe that is only for public http access.

Usually anonymous is the username. My dlink 2230 works with blank password.

Yeah!

"anonymous" is the correct username. It works blank password.

Thank you so much!
