Title: DNR202L- can no longer access virtual folder for DL'd video files
Post by: RYAT3 on February 22, 2020, 06:47:24 AM

Thanks Microsoft!!  Wondered what happened.  Now I know.

In case you are behind the 8ball, the dnr202 downlaods file to a virtual folder that looks like your desktop. You  can see you files when
you go to dnr202l download, but can no longer access them.

Can't find them with search, so can't get to them. Even new ones.

Unreal.

If anyone has a work around, chime in.

Thanks me later

Bring up MNSDOS prompt (run as administrator)

get to c:

c:\> dir nvr*.avi /s

You'll see the folder structure and files

Open Windows Explorer

Turn on Hidden files in c:\users\yourusername

Enter as much as you can as the path allows

I couold not see INetCache even exposing hidden files.  Type this into the explorer bar in the full path.
I even had to type in Virtualized.

You should see the rest of the folders to get at your files.

Copy them out.

Your welcome.

My full path is:  c:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\Virtualized\C\Users\username\Desktop

Well with the windows upgrades - Microsoft has moved/backed up (for how long who knows) the files previously in the "current folder" where current exports are.

I'm sure they will be lost once MS decides it time to get rid of Windows.Old folder.

For example, I thought I lost of bunch of exports, but found them here:

C:\Windows.old\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\Virtualized\C\Users\yourusername\Desktop
