You might want to contact D-Link and ask them about the TLS support. I'm not sure about this protocol and this model camera...

What Rev is the DIR-655 and what FW is currently loaded?

Is DNS Relay enabled?
Is Firewall settings set for TCP/UDP Endpoint Independent?

Are you using Port Forwarding rules or Virtual Server? If PF, be sure uPnP is disabled.
I'd try using Virtual Server instead with uPnP enabled.

I have not made any special settings on my router.

This is outbound not inbound traffic, so it should not be much of an issue.  Port Forwarding not needed because I am not running an FTP server behind the router - destination for the files is on the web on a server I have FTP access to.

Ditto with DNS Relay and Firewall settings for TCP/UDP as I understand it.

I recommend trying the following:
Disable DNS Relay and set firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP and see.
Ensure that your WAN side FTP source is configured and set up correctly to receive data.

Contact D-Link support and ask about the configuration with TLS support and this camera and if it supports it...

I've had a support ticket in with Dlink for about a week now.  I have spent over an hour on the phone, and they still don't know what's up.

  • I have confirmed I have FTP access into the web server I am trying to upload to.  My login credentials work in any FTP program I have tried regardless of what I select re: TLS or SSL for protocol.  The problem is not the FTP server host.
  • Apparently there is no log file for this camera?  That's what Dlink told me, and would make sense since this is apparently difficult to diagnose.
  • We ensured Port Forwarding was in place for FTP, but frankly that is unnecessary since the FTP server is not behind my router, but on the internet.
  • I asked them to give me assistance getting the USB flash drive connected to the port on my router configured as an alternative

bhamdata.com is a site that I own/manage/control.  I use a third party (reseller) hosting service to allow the world access.  [Googlle "reseller hosting" for plenty of sources ranging from $1.00/month upward.]

So, no, there is nothing special to do to ftp these results to your hosted site.

Ok, Is this site on your LAN side or WAN side of the main host router that your camera is connected too?

Just curious if there is any configurations on the main host router, not site, that needs anything.

WAN side...The reseller's server is in Colorado, and I'm in Alabama.

The LAN side router is "out of the box" virgin.

I hooked the 932l(a) camera up to my AT&T uVerse [Arris NVG589] modem/router/AP and followed the DLink setup software to get the camera working via MyDlink.  I did nothing with the AT&T as far as port forwarding, etc. I never even logged in to the AT&T box.

The standard reseller hosting account is made available by the reseller already prepared for ftp uploading of HTML pages.  For that, I use filezilla ftp (free).  The 932 camera contains it's own ftp software.
