Very Slow Web Interface
« on: September 17, 2018, 09:06:47 PM »

The Dashboard is quite slow in loading.  Often when I change between Status/Network/Security/Maintenance menu item, I get this notification that says "Loading please wait..."  At first I thought I was running at 10 Mbps but when I looked at my network adapter properties is says 1.0 Gbps.  By any chance does this web interface need memory, for rendering or whatever?  If so, that might be the issue since I am currently running only 2 GB RAM.  However, web content is usually not memory intensive.  Also the web interface for my D-Link DAP-1522 access point on this same PC is more responsive.  In fact the web interface for my older D-Link EBR-2310 10 Mbps router was much more responsive.

Has anyone experienced the slow speed/responsiveness of the web interface for the D-Link Unified Services Router - DSR-250?

What FW version is currently loaded?
What browser are you using? Happen in IE11, FF or Opera?
Happen with a different PC?
What PC platform are you using? Windows or Mac?

I tried connecting to my D-Link router using MS Edge.  Same issue; slow response.  The funny thing is my D-Link Access Point (model DAP-1522) is connected to the router (wired connection to port).  When I connect to the access point (AP) from my desktop PC which is also wired to the router, I am obviously going through the router but the AP web interface has a much faster response.  Sometimes I can access my AP but not the router web interface.

Now there is the issue that the router requires using a secure URL (https vs http) and, in fact, when I first try to connect to it I get the warning that the site is not secure.  Something  about the the hostname in the D-Link website’s security certificate differs from the website you are trying to visit (see below).  But there is always the link that says go on to the web page (Not recommended) but it works anyway.  I'm not sure why this is happening but I  do not think it is related to the slow web interface issue.

I see that to insert a hyper link, that i can click the Insert Hyperlink icon which inserts begin and end "url" tags (square brackets) into the post  and I simply enter the url between the brackets.  However, trying to insert an image does not seem to work.  Clicking the Insert Image icons inserts begin and end "img" tags (square brackets) into the post but entering the file path (on my local PC) does not insert the image.  Do I have to upload the image file first?  Or is it simply that attachments are not enabled for my account?

Adding Screenshots In A Post

Have you performed a Factory reset on the router and set it up from scratch?
You might do a reset, then re-load the latest FW file again, factory reset then set up from scratch again and see if the UI is still slow, if it is, I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this.
Link> Tech Support Contact Information
We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
