mydlink+ flips multi view display upside down
« on: August 07, 2018, 06:14:04 PM »

Hello,

Starting several months ago the latest version of mydlink+ flips the multi view display upside down on my iPad.  This only happens when the iPad is oriented so it is landscape (necessary for multi view function to work) AND the home button in on the right side of the unit.  When the iPad is oriented such that the home button is on the left side the display remains right side up.  Very frustrating and seems to be something that the developers should have caught.

Any known fixes for this?

Thanks!

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. The US offers Chat support for consumer products at support.dlink.com. 24/7. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.

Thanks for the advice.  I called the US support line.  The gentleman I spoke with checked with his supervisor and  claimed neither of them had never heard of this issue.  I suggested that he look at the mdlink+ reviews on the Apple App Store dealing with this very problem.

He stated that he would write this issue up and send it to dlink engineering.

This is not the resolution I hoped for but it may be all I can reasonably expect.

What version app do you have and what tablet/ipad and iOS version are you running? (Engineers will ask).

This was not happening on previous versions?

I have version 3.8.7 of the mydlink+ app.  My iPad is a model MP2J2LL/A (2017 9.5”) running iOS 11.4.1 (15G77).  This behavior started with a previous version of mydlink+ approximately 3 months ago.

A fix of sorts
« Reply #5 on: August 21, 2018, 01:44:41 PM »

D-link released version 3.8.8 of the mydlink+ app.

The documentation states: 1.Workaround for the https handshaking issue in some network environments.

What the app appears to do is flip the multi view image 180 degrees as the previous version(s) did but then flip it 180 degrees again so that after a couple of seconds it is once again upright.  This doesn’t seem to be a very elegant fix for an issue that supposedly doesn’t exist but it is a fix none the less.

Hopefully the next version of the app will get rid of the double flips.
