Title: DFL-860E Opening Ports
Post by: cujo444 on November 14, 2014, 04:51:02 PM
I have a new DFL-860E running current firmware 2.60.02.02-24262 that I'm having problems getting RDP to work through.  Interface Address to server and Service with Port have been created.  I know the server is answering, it works internally on network and worked with previous router from WAN.

I've created the SAT & Allow rules as instructed and it will not answer.  If anybody has any ideas, would be greatly appreciated...

SAT Rule:
Source IF: Any
Source Net: All-Nets
Dest IF: Core
Dest Net: WAN_IP

DST: SAT(server) (with checkmark on Destination IP & All-to-one mapping)

ALLOW Rule has same source/destination settings as above.  I've tried multiple combinations and it will not answer.

What you have created sounds right.  Sorry if some of these questions sound basic.

Are you testing from inside your network or from outside (these need different rule sets)?

Have you placed the port forward rules at the top of your rule list (to ensure we don't have any interfering rules)?

Do you see any relevant traffic in your logs on your DFL or server?

Does you server have any firewall rules in place that could be interfering?

Does your server have the DFL as their default gateway?

I've tested from both, neither works

yes, still same issue
Do you see any relevant traffic in your logs on your DFL or server?
nothing relating to an RDP connection appears in logs
Does you server have any firewall rules in place that could be interfering?
no, server answers without issue on previous router and on LAN...have same problem trying to go to Win7 workstations, ran tests on different workstations, ports, etc., same problem, no answer
Does your server have the DFL as their default gateway?
yes

Spoke with DLink support also, they had no answer other than doing hard reset.
