Problems managing my DGC-1100 switches
« on: January 25, 2018, 01:29:43 AM »

Hello,

I have a weird problem that I wonder if anyone else have run into. I've just installed two DGS 1100-05 and one DGS 1100-08 to extend the LAN at one of our locations. All is working great, VLAN tagging etc., apart from the monitoring and management of the switches. I constantly seem to have problems reaching my switches on the management port loosing perhaps 30 pings until they comes back. Interestingly enough I loose no pings to the devices on the other side of the switch when this happens suggesting that it is just the management interface of the switch that does not behave.

The same behaviour exists on ALL three switches. All switches also have a lot of Rx errors on the management port.

Have anyone else seen the same behaviour? Is there a workaround?

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email. If in the USA, there is 24/7 online chat support.
Let us know how it goes please.

If you have revision B, and are still having issues, try updating the firmware to 1.00B019. This will resolve an issue with VLAN tagging.

I have a similar possibly related problem on a DGS-1100-08P POE switch.  I will start a new thread for that since it is a POE unit and I am not using VLANs.
