Internet Connection 100 TImes Slower than It Should Be
« on: October 08, 2010, 06:23:40 PM »

My cable internet connection goes through an Apple Airport (the newest round airport before the square ones). The MacBook Pro internet works just fine (speed test 13 Mbps download, 2.3 Mbps upload), but the Windows 7 PC with DLink DWA-125 is abysmal at .18 Mbps download and .18 Mbps upload.

Any ideas about what is making the internet so slow on the PC?

Figured it out. The Airport was setup with WEP security and so I changed it to WPA2-Personal, then changed the Properties on the DWA-125 to WPA-Personal with TKIP selected. Now it's at over 5 Mbps download, 1.8Mbps. Not as fast as the Mac on the same network, but fast enough to get the work done.
