Title: 2 Networks showing up on 1 router...
Post by: wslytoy on April 03, 2015, 08:19:51 PM
Hey guys, sorry if this has been asked before... But I'm currently on firmware version 1.06 on my DIR-820L & on my Android phone I'm showing "GatorNation" twice. Once is secured, the other is not. The network that isn't secured won't actually connect to the internet if you select it, as I've tried. Also, this network isn't showing up on my MacBook... Only only Android devices. Since I updated, this has been occurring. I had to reset my wireless settings when I updated d/t an error during the install of the firmware (my fault). This has happened before, & I was able to fix it... but I can't remember how to fix it this time. The guest networks for 2.4 & 5 GHZ are both disabled, so it's not a guest network deal. Any assistance is appreciated.

Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.
