You need to running a TFTP Server application on the computer to upload the firmware file. A TFTP Server can be downloaded from the internet, or good program is Solarwinds TFTP Server. Make sure the application is fully started, and extract the firmware file to the server specified upload folder. There should be a .tgz file which will be the main firmware upgrade.
1) Log into the web interface of the switch
2) Go to System > System Utilities > Download File to Switch
3) Use the following entries:
File Type: Code
TFTP Server IP Address: (IP address of the computer running the server)
TFTP File Path: (leave empty, if the file is in the TFTP Server upload folder)
TFTP File Name: (the full file name, includes the .tgz)
Check Start File Transfer
4) Click Submit and the transfer will take a few minutes
5) Once complete, go to Save All Applied Changes and click Save
