Title: Can't DCS-942L via cloud (but can access via Android app)
Post by: Alen79 on March 10, 2016, 11:16:22 PM
Dear all,

I have a DSC-942L. I can access it externally via the app mydlink app lite. This works fine.
But I can’t access this cam via the cloud on mydlink.com. I get following error message.

Unable to access your DCS-942L.
If you cannot access your DCS-942L, please check that:
•   You have at least 256K of bandwidth
•   Your DCS-942L is not being blocked by a firewall or an antivirus program

I’ve tried to use Chrome, Firefox and IE11. I installed as well the new plugin “My Dlink Services plugin”.
Still does not help.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Many thanks
Alen

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?

Test cameras with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding both enabled on ALL cameras: DCS Cloud (L) Series Camera Configuration and Mydlink.com (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=62395.0)

Hi,

To anwer your questions:

-Hardware Version A, with Firmware 1.26
-I'm in Europe
-I don't use wireless. The CAM is connected via Gigabit Ethernet with the Router
-I'm using a AVM Fritzbox Router
-Ports 80/443 are opened and forwarded to the cam (I can access the admin webinterface of the cam from external)

Still not working. On the mydlink website I can see my CAM is listed and has a green tick next to it. But there is still no picture and after a few seconds while the plugin tries to connect I still get the above error message.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

@FurryNutz: I've already contacted local dlink support. They only thing the have been able to tell me is to open port 80/443 which I did a verified.

Regarding bandwith. Speedtest.net tells me that I have 218 Mbps download rate.

What is strange. Why can I access my cam using the mydlink app lite but it does not work through the browser?

Thanks
Alen

I tested my 933L yesterday on my local LAN and I can access it on Windows 7x64 IE11 and OSX 10.10.5 and Safari v9.0.3 browser.
I can access the advanced settings as well linked to the MDL site for the camera and see the cameras advanced settings web page as well.

Are you using mydlink.com in the browser?   Or are you trying to access the camera's F/W (Firmware) webpages directly?

Where is the browser located?  phone? computer?  Where is the computer?  On your same network?  Some where else(work)?

Is this the only dlink camera you have?

Hi Ryat 3

Yes, im using mydlink.com in the browser on a Computer running Win7 (work) Win10 (home). I tried in Chrome, IE and Firefox. Tried it from home (same network as the CAM) and as well from work. Actually I'm not using mydlink.com. When I enter this URL I get redirected to https://eu.mydlink.com/device (this must be because I'm in Europe).

I am able to access my camera's F/W directly (admin website) because I opened port 80/443.

This is my only CAM I have from dlink

You might contact your regional D-Link support office and ask them about this. This might be a MDL service issue or a configuration issue.

I can't connect with my camera too anymore, only locally. Downgraded even firmware to earliest and used original CD to register camera into mydlink server, but without any luck. Error is - can't connect with mydlink server.

I'm having the exact same problem as above but with with my  3 932L cams.
I have 2 930L which do not exhibit the problem.
The issue is 2 weeks old , please provide a resolution

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?
How many other wireless devices do you have connected to the main host router?

I recommend setting a static IP address ON the cameras outside of the main host routers default DHCP IP address pool as a troubleshooting step: 192.168.#.30 and .31  DHCP (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=58017.0)

Test cameras with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding both enabled on ALL cameras: DCS Cloud (L) Series Camera Configuration and Mydlink.com (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=62395.0)
