DWA-131 Speed Issue
« on: December 05, 2010, 07:05:22 AM »

I just bought the DWA-131 together with the D635 router.  The purpose with the DWA-131 was to connect it to my old mac mini and use the 'n' standard to get to higher speeds, rather than the 'g' standard.

There were no issues setting up the router. And it also works great with my new mac mini, which has a built-in 'n'-standard wlan-card, giving me speeds up to 60mbit up and 60mbit down (I'm on a 100mbit/100mbit connection).

However, I'm not able to get to the same speeds using the DWA-131 on my old mac mini.  I downloaded the mac os 10.6 Wireless Utility Version 1.7.1, installed it, configured it and connected it.
The speeds that I get with the DWA-131 is around 15 mbit up and 15 mbit down, which is the same that I get with the built in 'g'-card.

When I'm checking the Status in the router, Wireless, I see both my macs; the new mac mini has Mode 802.11n (2.5GHz) Rate 130 MBps and a 100% signal, while the old mac mini using the DWA-131 has 802.11g, 54Mbps and 80% signal.

Both computers have the same distance to the router.

I'd appreciate if you can assist me on this matter.
