Rev A - Any Firmware Updates Planned
« on: August 07, 2010, 09:38:25 AM »

As I continue to have various issues with my revision A version of the DIR-825, does anyone know if an updated firmware is in the works?  Or has revision A been de-supported by Dlink?

I'm still having issues with:
  • Shareport printer no longer being recognized/usable until router rebooted
  • Loss/overload of router which causes all clients (wired and wireless) to loss connectivity
  • Router rebooting itself periodically

I did some research, it seems that D-link, like most other router manufacturers, quits supporting that last hardware version once a new one comes out. I purchased an A4 version a while back and quickly returned it and got a B1 version after researching this.

The latest scam by everyone, including Cisco! You need a new router every few years. I personally have something like 5 working routers at home, if I went back to DSL and IPV6 did not hit for a while, they would all be GREAT! But with a 20-30 Mbps cable connection, 2 xbox 360's and various other toys the kids have, my older routers are TOAST. I would think the A1 should be good for a while longer though, it is a good solid platform.

This is incredibly annoying. I have an A1 and I see all kinds of B1 people talking about their issues being solved in new firmwares, nothing for us.  So because I adopted the DIR-825 earlier, I am punished?  This thing has been dropping connection and requiring a reboot more and more often.  I can hardly play a full match in an online game without it kicking me.  This is just unacceptable from a "respectable company".  Support your freaking products.
