UPnP AV Server not accessible from Windows 7 - WMP 12
« on: April 08, 2010, 01:52:16 PM »

Hi, I'm trying to configure my new DNS-323 (upgraded to FW 1.08) in RAID 1 on my LAN but - even if I can see my server from WMP and my TV - I cannot browse any content at all; I've already tried:
- to format again my 2-disks RAID
- to restore factory default settings
-to disable and enable the AV Server many times.
The refreshing procedure always completes successfully and I even tried to copy on my volume just a single file named test.mp3...

Pls, help me I'm despairing! Thanks everybody!

I think that at the moment there is no way to make WMP work with the uPnP server
WMP does see it, but when you try to browse it it says
"The remote media library did not allow the connection."

Dunno why  :'(

I hope somebody of D-Link staff read and reply to my post 'cause now I've noticed the same behaviour trying to connect to the AV Server with my new Panasonic TV (DLNA certified)... it does see the NAS but it's unable to browse content!!

I need help, thx!

Same here..

I don't know why any Dlink staff give a real answer for this issue.

Maybe this isn't the right place to write what I've discovered... anyway, you have to mod your NAS using the fonz fun_plug script and then install another media server like TwonkyMedia.

It works perfectly!!

Well, we shouldn't have to do that, correct? :)  I'm having the same issue.  Can't connect with Windows 7 nor with a new Sony TV.

The media server of the DNS-323 will be receiving an update that should allow it to work with MP12. I just can't give a time-frame.

Who can? :)  I hope you do.  It would be great if this could work with the Sony Bravia TVs.  For now, I have to use Wild Media Server on my PC and I would rather off load the media sharing to the DLINK if possible.

Bump guys.......any news, someone from DLINK please......

I just bought a DNS-323 3 days ago, after having mega problems with a Netgear Stora for the same reason (UPnP not indexing correctly, known problem).  So i returned it for the DNS-323

Now I found out it is present in the DNS-323 for Win7.  Great luck I've had....

DLINK, you have known about this problem for many months now for Win7.....WHEN WILL IT BE FIXED?

Thank you....

No need for an answer now.  Got rid of it for a Ready NAS Duo.  Worked a treat and supports out of the box DLNA/UPnP, which means Win7/WMP12.
