I just loaded 1.10 and here are my quick observations:

1) The print server no longer works.  I can see the printer attached to the 323 but cannot print.

I updated three 323's and all had the same issue.  I didn't go through the hassle of going to factory defaults yet but on one of them I rolled back to 1.09 and VIOLA!  I can print.

2) The sorting of video when viewed from my DSM-520 is alll mixed up now.  Could this be related to the box now being DLNA 1.5 certified?  (I don't know very much about DLNA's cert # but 1.5 was established in 2006!  I realize that DLNA is likely just an interoperability spec but is it more?  Is DLINK using an old UPnP version?)  A file named 11 appears before 01.  It's as if the sort was changed but I have no access to change it to what I want.

3) I too had an access issue with W7 64-bit that I didn't have previously.  It only happened once so there isn't any pattern yet but I was moving a file from my PC to the NAS and half-way through I lost access (in a way).  I could see the files but couldn't do anything with them.  I couldn't do a copy and replace or move and replace.  Nor could I delete the file I was trying to replace.  I had to power cycle the box.

I have the exact setup you have my friend.  A question, I received my box with 1.08fw.  I upgraded to 1.09, then to 1.10.  Once upgrading to 1.10, I simply reformatted my current WD20EARS's again as RAID-1 (to 4K format I hope) but did not do a factory reset.  Do I need to or should I have done that first?

My understanding is by performing a factory reset all of the configurable parameters are reset to factory default values. I always factory reset as it gives me certainty that all of the configurable parameters will be compatible with the installed firmware.

- I have a lot of trouble connecting to the 323 from my machine (win 7, 64-bit). It doesn't appear on the network half the time. I don't believe this is a 1.10 bug, because I had a similar issue with 1.08. Would be nice if you could fix this, otherwise this thing is totally useless.
I'd be looking at your network setup. This really has nothing to do with the DNS323 firmware version as you yourslef have stated and as such I can't see how they can fix your network for you. I'd be extremely surprised if any similar device, even from a competitor, would perform any different until you resolve the issue.

It appears to me that F/W 1.10b does not report file permissions correctly when I access the unit using a terminal session under OS X.

Environment:
    Desktop: OS X 10.6.6
    DNS-323: H/W B1, F/W 1.10b, disks are 2 Seagate 250GB in standard configuration.

Steps performed:
    Installed F/W 1.10b
Reset system to factory default settings
Did several things including file transfers
Accesses the unit using a terminal session under OS X  and reviewed the information on the transferred files.

All files, both the new and pre-1.10 existing files, showed permissions of 777 (rwxrwxrwx).

I have reverted back to 1.09 and all files permissions look reasonable.  I then repeated the steps to install 1.10b and the file permissions are reported differently/incorrectly.

If there is a Unix user that could confirm this it would be great.

I don't see the same thing. My drives were formatted using 1.10.

Open finder, select a file on the DNS-323 that is in a password protected directory eg: a users directory, and select "get info". What are the permissions?

If the file is in the root directory of Volume_1 and everyone has read/write/execute access, 777 is to be expected.

Log into the router to find out the IP address for the DNS-323 and the DHCP IP address range.

Log into the DNS-323 and give it a static IP address that is outside the DHCP range of the router.
eg: If the router IP address is 192.168.1.1 (this may vary with different model routers), and the DHCP range is for example 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.100, give the DNS-323 an unused fixed IP address between 192.168.1.101 and 192.168.1.254.

Let's say you have given the DNS-323 the fixed IP address 192.168.1.200, refer to the DNS-323 as \\192.168.1.200
If you have a password protected directory that you want to connect to, change the server address to suit. eg: \\192.168.1.200\directoryname
A shortcut can be created that points to \\192.168.1.200 or even map the DNS-323 as a network drive using \\192.168.1.200

If user accounts, passwords and directory access permissions have not be set up again after the factory reset, 777 access is to be expected.

F/W 1.10b does not work correctly with my: 2 SAMSUNG HD204UI (2TB), formatting freezes at 13%
This is a AFT Drive (4k Drive).

Environment:
    Desktop: Windows 7 32bit
    DNS-323: F/W 1.10b, disks are 2 Samsung 2TB in standard configuration.

Steps performed:
    Installed F/W 1.10b
Reset system to factory default settings
Start at HARD DRIVE CONFIGURATION, this screen gives progress indicator when formating in modes: Standard, JBOD and Raid 0 and 1. But haltes at 13%
The NAS becomes unresponsive. The webinterface does not work anymore and the nas need to be switched of from the power to boot again. (reset button does not respond)

Hmm, I also have those 2TB Sammy's and was contemplating installing the new firmware. I may hang back now :)

Solved the problem for my SAMSUNG HD204UI (2TB) by not using ext2, but ext3 (raid config/format).

Workes perfectly. I'll test the new config this week on performance. Seems a nice update (thanks Dlink!)

I'm using ch3snas hardware so missing out updates for AFT / K4 because conceptronics discontinued providing upgrades for this hardware. The dns-323 workes nicely on the ch3snas. Used http://nas-tweaks.net/128/flashing-the-conceptronic-ch3snas-with-the-firmware-of-the-d-link-dns-323/ to flash my ch3snas.

I started a new topic assuming that the contents of this one were related to its title. Will post here as well:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just updated two boxes to the 1.10 BETA. My media lists seem to load faster when streaming to my PS3, however I can't seem to view any photos in this manner (will see if a refresh fixes this). Also, when navigating media folders on my PS3 I notice that any spaces get replaced by "%20". For example the directory:

"Video\Pirates of The Caribbean" shows up "Pirates of The Caribbean" until I actually navigate into the folder, at which point it reads "Pirates%20of%20the%20Caribbean". This renaming occurs for folders only. File names with spaces remain unchanged.

This did not happen in FW 1.09. I don't like it. I did NOT reset back to factory settings, I know I should have, but it hasn't seemed necessary thus far.

Any thoughts?

If user accounts, passwords and directory access permissions have not be set up again after the factory reset, 777 access is to be expected.

After a change I always Restore to Factory Default Settings and recreate the same environment.  The files are stored within user subdirectories.

I have two 323 units. The first is my primary backup for our two machines (Windows and OS X) at home and it is running F/W 1.09.  The second machine is used as a secondary backup and for testing.  If I copy a file from the primary to the secondary machine, the permissions are reported as being different on the two systems when viewed in a terminal session.  Finder shows Sharing & Permissions as "You can read and write" on both machine.

This situation will probably not bother me.  I may have made a typo the first time I installed 1.10 so I took the system back to 1.09, did the grunt work and upgraded to 1.10 again.  Being retired, I have time to try other things if it will help.

Installed the beta firmware as well.  My LG TV (LE5400) detects the dlna server but can't play xvid/divx files (error is something like unsupported file).  Same files play fine when using minidlna from my dns-323.
I have same exact TV. It played all the formats except .DAT files and one of the movie it said audio format not supported. But today, I rearranged all the folders. Now my TV doesn't play any thing. No Movies/Photos/Music. I think, there is something fishy. I will try to restore to factory defaults and try.
