Title: Dir-605L Resetting itself -- Firmware Version: 1.14 -- Hardware Version: Ax
Post by: Dissimulate on February 04, 2015, 08:29:02 PM
Everything on the end of my ISP (electronicbox) is fine. I'm connected through a Dynamic IP with username/password. My router is connected to a tp-link modem.

Sometimes the PPPoe will connect automatically and stay connected for several minutes; other times I will connect it manually and it will, too, stay connected for several minutes. When it disconnects one of two things happens. My router logs me off (without my choosing to do so) or the PPPoE disconnects by itself. This is a particularly frustrating situation, for I cannot game online, stream any content of significant length, have uninterrupted downloads, etc.

I tried to update the firmware, but my router is already up to date for the corresponding hardware version. I attempted to replace all the cables, change power outlets, etc. but nothing has helped. I'm not sure what else to do apart from buy a new router and/or modem. Any help is greatly appreciated.
