Post by: SpiderDice on August 02, 2017, 12:52:34 PM
What is the difference? Just two drive bays vs. HDMI port?

Uhh...thanks?

So...which one is newer?

Not sure which one is newer, I presume it maybe the 322L. The 322L has two Revs, A and B. I recommend the Rev B version if you choose to get one.

What are you looking to do with one of these?

Well, they only thing they are good for...NVR.

myDLink app sucks when you have multiple cameras, and my NAS will only allow two IP cameras without adding an additional subscription for camera licenses.

Honestly, I think that the 312L is newer (yes, I realize it doesn't make sense for a naming convention, D-Link sucks at that) because it has a HDMI port and multiple USB ports.

I see no advantage of the 322L over the 312L except for more storage...which shouldn't be an issue..

The 312L has more memory (1024MB DDR III) and supports SATA III up to 6GB per drive.

The 322L has 256MB DDR II RAM and only supports SATA II up to 4GB per drive.

Ok, Hope either one works for you.

Thank you GreenBay for the additional information.

Ya, I don't believe you have to add subscriptions to add cameras there D-Link NAS.

Another suggestion you can try is D-View Cam however it needs a PC for this.

More memory on the 312L is definitely a plus. Don't really care about the hard drive...just going to get a cheap 500GB or something..

I presume the 312L will work great for your needs. I would check with D-Link support first to make sure what camera models you have are fully supported and get a list of what the 312L support for any future needs.
