Author Topic: Why can't I record video upon motion detection with the DCS-932L?  (Read 5532 times)

I have a DCS-1130, and like it because it has the ability to record video upon motion detection (with firmware 1.03 at least).

I got a DCS-932L to expand my nascent security system.  However, the 932L apparently lacks the ability to record upon motion detection, instead it is only able to record a few picture frames.

What the $@$$@!!?  I thought the video recording feature was mostly the point for this product line, but D-Link has ripped that capability out?  What gives?

Someone please let me know if I am missing something.

Thanks,
-Chris C. :'(

Dlink says you need a piece of s/w called Dviewcam.  S/B on the camera installation disc.  Also available at
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Multimedia/D-View%20Cam/DViewCam_320.zip and ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Multimedia/D-View%20Cam/DViewCam_manual_311.pdf

I just found this out, haven't tried it.  If u try let us know.

That's useless! A network cam that still needs a PC running to save video to a NAS drive?! Surely there is a way around this?

Either way, what about us Mac users?!
