Some applications can't write more than 2 GB
« on: February 11, 2009, 12:35:50 PM »

I'm not sure if this is a NAS problem, a Samba problem, a system problem (Mac OS X), a filesystem problem (EXT2), or just a bad coding problem, but some applications can't seem to write past 2 GB on my RAID-5 - notably Final Cut Pro when capturing and other capture programs such as HD Monitor Pro.

Copying files over 2 GB works just fine, and some applications (such as Capture Magic HD) can write over 2 GB just fine.

What can I do to fix this? Is it a common "bad coding" problem with some applications? Why do separate applications act differently?

Are you writing to the DNS-343 with the program of moving the file over after it is created on your PC? Have you tried both?
