I had the same problem, Couldnt connnect to the internet and register the camera.  I tried everything switching  from static to DHCP.  Then I upgraded the fiurmware fropm 1.00 to 1.01 b3.  IT WORKED!  I connected fine and registered the camera.  Then I went back to switch back to Static IP and it won't let me.  I tried the camera web interface and it just changes back to DHCP( yes, after saving) when I return to the page.  I even loaded the CD configurator and changed it there.  It gives me an error saying there was a problem writing the changes.  Apparently the firmware fixed one problem and created another?

So now that the camera is registered.  I downgraded the firmware back to V1.00 and I was able to change the IP back to static.  There is a bug in V1.01 b3 (see prior post)

Does this problem still exist???

I've read all the comments, upgraded to v1.05, accessed my camera from it's IP address, tried wired and wireless setup and I still get stuck at the 'Unable to connect to mydlink website' window.

So frustrated this afternoon I think I broke my laptop :(

This happens to my camera almost everytime it crashes.
Found a resolution that seems to work.
Log onto your cameras setup page via browser.
192.168.0.18
Click Status.
There you will have your information needed after for the next steps.

IP Address   192.168.0.18
Subnet Mask   255.255.255.0
Default Gateway   192.168.0.1
Primary DNS
Secondary DNS

Connect camera to wireless.
it will say unable to connect to dlink server click retry or cancel or whatever.
Click retry.
Then it should take you to manually configure your internet.
Click the static ip one and enter in all necessary numeric ports.

This should work.

We thank you for posting this information and feed back. We hope it will help any future users since the OP has not returned in 3 years.  ::)

Also FYI,
