DNS320 Mapped Drive
« on: June 04, 2018, 12:44:58 AM »

Greetings!

I have successfully mapped a network drive to my PC (running Windows 7 Pro) and it asked me for the username and password of the mapped drive when I set it up. Afterwards, every time I double click it it opens it. Problem is, I want Windows to prompt me for username and password every time I double click it. How can I do that?

My NAS is the DNS-320 rev B1 with the 1.01 firmware.

Thanks! :D

Try and disconnect the drive that's listed under Computer in Explorer.
You'll need to uncheck the box that's says re-connect I believe when PC starts up and remember credentials.

That didn't work. Any other ideas?

Might did a search on the web to see if there is a way to will Windows to forget recent log in credentials. Normally users like to have Windows keep this information.

Ya it is. I looked at my Windows 10 PC yesterday. I can see my DNS-345 and it's a bit older than the 320. I have SMBv1.0 enabled in windows 10. Not sure what the difference could be...
