Setup problem: Bogus IP address
« on: June 22, 2012, 09:35:13 AM »

Context: Setting up a roaming network for my AirPort Extreme wireless setup.

I've confirmed that the Ethernet connection from the base station to the "base" 500AV is working properly (plugged it into my laptop, and everything connected groovily).

All three status lights are green on the "remote" AV. When I plug in my laptop, it "sees" the Ethernet connection, but gets a bogus IP address (in the 168 range; my network is in the 10 range) and can't connect to the Interwebs.

Am I making some sort of rookie mistake?

Running Mac OS, if that matters.

Thanks for your help.
