Just curious, do you have to do anything besides turning on the camera to get the camera into any other mode of operation? I know routers can get into recovery mode however you have to hold the reset button during power ON till the power LED blinks. Not sure if Cameras have any process for this. Just wondering.  ???

This "may be" a half-baked process with some missing components. This process was communicated to me second-hand and I'm offering it here for testing because the OPs camera is inoperable, so nothing lost by trying.  As you pointed out, It would probably be a good idea to mimic the router process to instantiate the correct mode. Anything you have to offer on that end would be helpful.

I affraid we've pretty much exhausted all options, unless someone has something else to offer we haven't thought of yet.  :-\

My DCS 930L recently were bricked too.
front red light and rear blue light keeps turned on.
I tried to connect my laptop's ethernet port to the camera but to no avail.
I can't ping the camera (192.168.0.20)
Is there any way to contact the camera? I'm afraid I'm out of warranty :(
the camera previously working well. asked for a firmware upgrade and were working nicely.
suddenly it stopped connecting and up till now still in this state.

please help, thanks

Since you've seemingly exhausted all other options, here's one last procedure to try that may provide some relief:

Download Firmware

Establish a static IP address on your PC

  • Connect the camera directly to a PC Ethernet port
  • Windows 7 - Navigate to Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings
  • Right-Click Local Area Connection and select Properties
  • Highlight Internet Protocol Version 4 and select Properties
  • Select the  Use the following IP address radio button
  • In the IP address field enter 192.168.0.55
  • In the Subnet mask field enter 255.255.255.0
  • In the Default gateway field enter 192.168.0.20
  • Press OK

Access Camera

  • Using an Internet browser on the PC, enter the following address: http://192.168.0.20
  • If the camera prompts for a username and password, enter Username: admin; Password: [Leave field blank]
  • Navigate to MAINTENANCE > Firmware Upgrade and upload the firmware file previously saved to the PC desktop

PLEASE POST BACK AND LET US KNOW IF THIS WORKS!!!

Was the reset button held in for 10 seconds to see if it would factory reset then connect a LAN cable to the camera and then to the main host router? Look at he main host routers connected client table to see if the camera was connected and had an ip address?
