Not seeing DLNA server
« on: September 18, 2016, 05:26:16 PM »

I have an 890L (Firmware version 1.10, hardware version A1) serving as the wireless hub for my house.  Configured to get WAN IP from Verizon FIOS router.  DHCP serves IPs to the entire network.  890L is configured as the gateway (192.168.0.1).  All other wireless devices (2 phones, 1 iPad, 4 PCs, 2 Amazon FireTV, 1 Amazon Alexa) connect to the 890L.  Problem is no devices on the 192.168.0.x network can see the DLNA server.  It's enabled in the software.  I have an externally powered 2TB USB 3.0 disk drive hanging off the USB port.  I can map a network drive to the USB drive from all the devices and see all the material on the drive.  But I can't use VLC on any device and stream from a DLNA server because none of the devices see the DLNA server.

This problem occurs with SmartMode on and off - makes no difference.

What am I missing?

Thx

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?
  • Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates then set up from scratch?
  Link> >FW Update Process
  • Was the router working before any firmware updates?

Is uPnP and IPv4 Multicast Streams enabled on the router as well?
Do you use IPv6 any?
