PORT redirecting
« on: October 15, 2009, 06:06:22 AM »

Hello..

I have set up a service with DynDns.com - a dns forwarder.

HOWEVER, when the URL is entered,  It directs to my D-link login scren.

Is there a behinners guide to port forwarding ?
- my OTHER machine is Linux - This machine here is WinXP (which has the Dlink files on it)...

Question :- 1) How do i find the correct port, on the linux (other) machine - Ubuntu

Q 2) How dO i alter the D-link options, so whem people put in the redirect URL. they are directed to the Linux Machine ?

Are you trying to host a web server behind your WBR-1310?

If you are you need to configure the WBR-1310 port forward rules to forward HTTP (which is port 80) to the IP address of the computer in your local network that you want to be your web server.

You won't be able to use DHCP with that computer because the WBR-1310 doesn't appear to support configuring a DHCP IP address to a fixed MAC address.

The example below is configuring HTTP (port 80) to be forwarded to IP address 192.168.0.50 which is outside the default DHCP range for the WBR-1310:
