Re: Great deal on 23" HD monitor
« Reply #630 on: August 22, 2011, 04:54:29 PM »

Hey to let you know I order 2 of these monitors last week and they arrived Sat. Both in outstanding new refurbished condition and work wonderful. Funny out they covered up the HP logo in back and replaced the HP sticker in front. Oh well, nice monitor for $125 shipped.

Thank you Karl, YOU ARE THE MAN!!!

 :-*

I wouldn't steer you wrong, Rob!  I have one set up for my son to game on.  It's been a great monitor.

BTW, I couldn't resist and bought another of the 4500's from that TigerDirect/CompUSA deal I posted earlier.  It's too good a deal for a new router.   :P

Harry, do tell.  What's up with HP and support?

I couldn't blame you if you did (pass the 657 on).

I just realized that I think we only have 1 wireless client that uses 5GHz.  My wife's notebook and it uses both bands.  Everything else is 2.4GHz.

I'm going to test out my boxee on both bands and see how well it works. Did pretty good yesterday on box playing MW2. Still not impressed with having to reboot the router after every change.  :-\

It ran well for me but just not on par with the 4500 or the E4200.  I never had to reboot.   :-\

On another note, I have a wireless N USB ($10) from Airlink and with my 4500 it connects at 135mbps but with my E4200 it only connects at 72mbps.  Why do you suppose?  Both are stable but why is the E4200 about half of what the 4500 connects?

Harry,  I would do something like that.  Right now, I have 3 different routers that I swap out every so often.  A Linksys E2000 I picked up for $37 shipped, my 4500 of course, and a Linksys E4200 I got from the Cisco/Linksys Homestore refurbed.  They're all great.  I definitely have backup in case one goes out!

Maybe something in the configuration possible? Odd that it works on the 4500 and not the e4200.  :-\

It's a 150mbps adapter, and both times I was 10 feet from the routers and with an unobstructed view.  Who knows.  I wouldn't know what to look for in the configuration to fix it, LOL!

Hope you feel better, Harry!  If it's a cold, I swear by Zicam or the generic equivalent.  It works for me every time but better if you catch it on onset.  Still, it will reduce the duration if you take it as directed.

Java, were you on a mini vacation?

A vacation of sorts. . .
Now, back to reality (although calling this forum "reality" is an oxymoron)
