Upgraded from 1.21EU to 1.34B02Beta from ftp.dlink.ru

- Wake On LAN from internet not working anymore. It works when I add it in Virtual Server (predefined Wake On LAN option with IP 192.168.0.255), but after some time it doesn't work anymore. This was not the case with 1.21EU. I also configured the same static DHCP leases as with 1.21EU.

- IPTV is working now, but stutters over Wireless connection (I also see a high error rate in DIR-655 wireless log). If I disable the options 'WMM Enable' and 'Short Gi' under Advanced Wireless I don't have stuttering anymore. But the cons are that the wireless speeds are slower (3-4 mb/s instead of 7-10 mb/s). I use the latest driver (9.0.0.173) for my Atheros AR928X WLAN adapter.

believe me Atheros network cards are ****py, no good support. Go for an intel or broadcom version.

Well, I had 2 MSI EX620 notebooks. 1 with Intel WiFi Link 5100 and 1 with Atheros AR928x. When compared the wireless speed on my DIR-655 A3 the Atheros was much faster then Intel. The reason for this was that those Intel adapters didn't support Channel Bonding at 40mhz. So with the Intel adapter the Wireless link was only running at 150Mbit and with the Atheros adapter it was running at 300Mbit.

Intel didn't had any option to set 40Mhz width in their networkadapter. Even not with their newest drivers. I really felt cheated by Intel that they didn't support such an IMPORTANT feature!

I decided to send back the MSI EX620 with Intel adapter and keep the one with Atheros adapter. And I'm really glad I did! The Atheros is fast and rock stable with the DIR-655!

Your point about the support: Yes new versions of their drivers are hard to find. They don't put them on their website. Mostly you need to get them from OEM sites like Acer, HP or Dell. But it's worth it because of the 40Mhz Channel Bonding support!

Latest Atheros drivers can be found here. I use the 9.1.100 myself on my Thinkpad here in Windows 7. Works perfectly.

Anyone else have this issue? - Trying to upload with A3 hardware but get this message:

The uploaded firmware file may not be correct. You may have uploaded a file that is not intended for this device, or the uploaded file may be corrupted.

If the uploaded file is correct, it is possible that the device may be too busy to properly receive it right now. In this case, please try the upload again. It is also possible that you are logged in as a 'user' instead of an 'admin' - only administrators can upload new firmware.

The Gateway will not be reprogrammed.

Yes Intel support 40 mhz channel you need to set it to automatic.

I did, but still no channel bonding. Link speed was still 150Mbit. I changed pretty much every option in the Intel NIC, but never managed to get over 150Mbit. Maybe the Intel 5300 uses Channel bonding when set to Automatic, but the 5100 definitely not.

Hi,

This is my first post and i would like to ask what's your opinion and feedback of this new firmware.

Also, i would like to ask a few questions regarding this "World wide" firmware.

1 - Does have the 3G USB Support?

2 - Is the UnPn problem fixed?

3 - Remote administration fixed?

4 - Is this firmware stable? Even with stress tests like using torrents.

Thanks in advance,
BR

I say what I know. UPnP problem is solved (Win7). For what I have had it in, it's stable. Don't know others, because I don't use those abilities.
