DCS 2230 lose wifi connexion
« on: February 19, 2012, 05:47:10 AM »

Hi there,

I just bought a DCS2230, replacing a FOSCAM FI8918

Quality is very well, it works fine with a wire on my gigabite network.
But i want to plug it on a place with no wire network, and i have a big problem with the wifi.

The cam connect well (just verify with a ping -t command) but as soon as i try to access the http interface, connexion is immediatly lost (no longer answer to ping command) and the cam need to be reboot.

I think the Wifi module is defective.. anybody tried it ? or had the same problem ?

Moreover, when the cam is booting, there is a noise, like a "clac", that doesn't seem to be coming from the HP...

Thx for your help

Sorry, i meaned "speaker" (HP in french ;) )

Just tried to disable Upnp presentation, but no way, doesn't solve the problem.
I have only one access point, so your second solution doesn't apply to me.

The noise seem, you're right, coming from the IR cut.

Thanks for your help, if you have another idea...   ???

Is it your server address or your user name that is not accepted?

I finaly found and solved the problem (thanks caseydoug for your help).

I resetted the cam to factory defaults, and wireless worked fine.

After 1 hour playing with the cam, i decided to connect it -again- to my Synology NAS (with DSM 4.0 beta, because DSM 3.2 doesn't support the DCS 2230).
And...... the cam crashed ! Wireless was lost, and i had to reset the cam again.

So : DON'T USE DSM 4.0 BETA WITH A DCS 2230 IN WIRELESS CONFIGURATION !!!
