Don't know how to setup a Schedules to control acces
« on: May 10, 2014, 11:47:59 AM »

Hi, first, excuse me for my poor english. This is not my primary language.

So, i'm a new DLink user, always got Linksys/Cisco router. But i've decide to buy the 850L from DLink. The problem is I cannot and don't know how to setup a restriction acces for my children and block internet access from 21h30 to 8h00.

I really love this router, is fast, the wifi is very good, but I need to add some restriction to specific MAC adress to block access internet at night (from 21h30 to 8h00).

I have the DLink 850L revA1 with FW1.10

Thanks alot to help me, really need!

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?

Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router. Besure to log into the Admin account on the router.
  • Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting and maintain consistency for applications that need to connect as well as mapped drives.
  • Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.

To set up scheduling:
1. Reserve device IP addresses ON the router under Setup/Networking.
2. Set up a schedule under Tools/Schedule on the routers web page. Customize your dates and times here.
3. Use Access Control under Advanced to apply the customized schedule to a policy and to the PC(s) desired to be controlled.
4. Ensure Time is set correctly on the router. Tools/Time.

I'm in Canada (Quebec)...

The only thing i've found is this "how to" on this webpage

But I cannot schedule the time and moment to block... And I don't want to block all access, ONLY the specified MAC adress...

You can block the specified MAC address as well using Access Control and Scheduling. You have to set up scheduling first then use Access control. Select the MAC address option.
