DIR-868L and 250Gb and 2Tb USB drives with SharePort
« on: February 28, 2014, 03:26:25 PM »

DIR-868L v1.07
Windows 7x64
Shareport v4.00
250Gb USB Drive:

MetaData folder size was less that 1Mb.

2Tb USB drive:

MetaData folder size was 55Mb

I noticed that upon mounting of the drive, a log in pop up appeared. I logged in with my routers admin credentials and was able to access the drive.

I was able to delete files and folder with out issue.

I presume that the metadata folder and other hidden folders maybe generated by the router and needs to remain on the drive.

FYI, not all 2Tb or higher drives may work. I believe my drive works on the DIR-868L by luck and is not officially supported by D-Link:
