Hi,
Just bought from Amazon a DCS-5000l ip camera.
the first two characters of the mac address both on the device itself and the device info reads  B0:xx:xx:xx

But when connected to my router its B2:xx:xx:xx

How is that possible ??

I tried both to reserve the Ip address and it doesn't work .. weird!!??

What region are you located?

Is the MAC address listed on the box as well? They should match.

one address could be the LAN port address and the other could be the wireless address as there are two separate HW connections.

What Mfr and model router are you using?

Is this a new or opened or used camera from Amazon?

I'm in Europe in France exactly.

And yes the mac address listed on the box is the same as the one reported by the device info panel

yes thats a good point ... but how do you check that out ? . It doesn't show on the device html interface ??

M:N :DCS-5000LA1

Yes new from Amazon but I didn't get the user manual in the box so ...

Do you confirm two differents mac for the hardwire and the wireless interface .. and how do you verify that ?

Thanks

Can you access the cameras static IP address with a web browser?

So doing a factory reset and walking thru the set up process fails?

A static IP address is set ON the camera and should be outside of the main host routers default IP address pool, say 192.168.0.100 thru 200 so you can set a static IP address ON the camera for 192.168.0.59. Give the main host routers subnet mask, gateway and use ISP DNS. If you can get there, see if you can use the scan tool for connecting the wireless to your main host routers wifi.

I'll have to see if 2 MAC addresses should be seen. I believe it should be on some models. Could be one MAC. If you don't think the camera is working as expected or of support can't help you get it going, might return it for another camera.
