Title: DIR 878 160Mhz channel support
Post by: edilima on December 03, 2018, 09:13:40 AM
When this product was released in the market, it was advertised that 160Mhz channel support would require further firmware update. The problem is that a few firmware versions have been released since then and no 160 Mhz channel support is avalable so far.

Are there any plans from DLink to bring this feature to life ? That would easily let DIR 878 reach 3.5 gbps speeds.

I know they are still working on 160MHz for the DIR-882. Since the 878 has the same chipset hopefully it will get an upgrade too. I was told sometime early to mid 2019.

I found some people on dd-wrt forum saying that DIR 882 got 160mhz channel size support.
Any news about the same support on DIR 878 ?

The 878 will not "officially" have 160MHz support since it was never advertised or marketed to have it. Hopefully the DD-WRT crew could make that happen since it is the same as the 882.
