no cloud camera was found... with a MacBook_Pro
« on: August 21, 2013, 06:09:05 PM »

hello everyone,
I hope I will find answers over here, since D-Link isn't providing me any help at all... I'm thinking about returning this camera and get a different brand in fact...

I'm connecting the camera and a MacBook-Pro to the same router, the router see the camera and gives it an IP address, the same to the MacBook-Pro, btw. I'm using a Mac OS X 10.8.4...
I'm following letter by letter the instructions but after running the setupwizard, either with both versions, the one on the CD and the latest version...
it comes up "no Cloud Camera was found"

any ideas, isn't my MacBook-Pro not seeing any IP?
any help please, I'm going nuts over here
thanks
cheers

It sounds like your router isn't opening the port to the world.

Try to manually configure it to port forward correctly.

I would venture to guess you are using the apple router?   :o

Hello RYANT3,
I think you are completely right…
I'm using a router/modem Actiontec V1000H with WPS…
do you know how to configure this router?
this must be under firewall/port forwarding?
is there assigned port number and IP?
thanks
have a great day

There are quite a few topics about issues with port forwarding.

Do you have a user manual for that router?  Are there firmware upgrades for the router?

Hello,
I don't have any manual and also don't know about any firmware upgrades...
I got this router with my Telus's opticalTV package and the firmware was designed for telus only.. kinda sucks heh!
but I think I found a post that would help me out....
thanks, I will keep you posted and if I find the answer I will publish here...
