My main cameras run on my UPS so that's good, but the internet going out is a different story. Oh well maybe someone will chime in. Internet hasn't gone out all year but just was looking for a heads up if it does. Until then my 3 German shepherds will keep me safe  ;D

And yes the cops have the picture. They said the neighborhood next to us had car break ins the day before but the disturbing part is he checked the door knob

Ya install UPS on the ISP modem and main host router. I have one on mine to keep it going for wireless services. It will help. If the Internet goes out upstream then theres not much you can with about that. If you can keep the cameras and Internet going, you'll be fine.

Place motion sensor lights as well. Kind of helps deter errant behavior.

Make sure you an capture video if you need to a storage device. I think you'll be ok.

Hope they find this guy.  ::)

The notification I presume is a feature of the UPS system right?  ???

No, this is Lowe's IRIS home automation system/alarm available in the usa.  No police notification. Just you. If you go over prescribed limits (like set off your home alarm because you forgot it) or want to use their magic rules (if motion sensor detection, turn on power outlet b to turn on lap) they will start charging $10/month for usage.

I don't think my model UPS provides email notifications but the next model up does so I will go that route.
