Bandwidth consumption
« on: January 21, 2014, 11:11:53 PM »

Hi all,

Questions about bandwidth consumption:

I've got a DLink camera that is installed at my home that is also registered with mydlink.

Question is, if 5 of my family members log into mydlink via their iPhone or iPad, will the bandwidth consumption at my home be counted as 5 or just 1 ?

Meaning, will the camera send 1 stream to mydlink or is it dependent on the amount of connections?

An independent live stream is sent to each person logged into the camera. Using your example, if five people are concurrently logged into mydlink and viewing the stream from five independent devices, then five streams are sent.

If your camera is in Night mode during viewing (if your camera supports that feature), the stream will be in black and white, which will use much less bandwidth.
