DXS-3400 24SC SPF+ and SPF comparability?
« on: March 26, 2018, 05:57:49 AM »

Hello,
I have a question that I have not been able to find an answer too.  My company is looking to start upgrading to 10G backbone and wants to do it one or two switches at a time.  Our current D-Link DGS3120s have 1G spf fiber links.  My question is if we use the 3400 as our new distribution switch can we put in standard SPF fiber links and use it at 1G to connect to our 3120s while we slowly upgrade them to DGS-3620-28TC which will support the 10G spf+ connectors.  We want to be able to use both at the same time on the same 3400 distribution switch.  Some switches support this and some don't, so I wanted to confirm if this was possible before getting one and finding out the hard way.

Thank you

I do not see any problem with that, if you are looking to connect the 3400 and 3120 via optical. Both support the DEM-310GT/311GT transceiver. I recommend calling the D-Link Sales team to verify.
