Locked Files FW 1.06
« on: January 26, 2009, 02:21:32 PM »

Hello;

I am having some fairly large problems with the DNS-323 denying my access to my files, I used to get this error just when I tried to delete bittorrent folders, but now the problem has spread to other folders on the 323.  A bunch of family photos give this error now, any ideas on how to unlock?

the exact error is

"Cannot Copy DSC08153: Access is Denied."

"Please make sure the disk is not full or write protected and the file is currently not in use."

will FW 1.06 help this issue with permissions?

One more piece of info, the 323 is setup with RAID1 (2X1TB)

I just installed 1.06 and still have the same issue, ironically after a reboot I can "sometimes" access the files temporarily, but after a few minutes the read permissions seem to be removed.

Reset the device to factory defaults and reconfigure you users and network access.

Ok, will try that.  That won't clear the data will it?

Nope just the device configuration settings. It will not do anything to your hard drives.

I have the same problem (1.07). If I upgrade fw to 1.09 will destroy my RAID1 configuration?

No. Good practice to backup your files first however.

I upgraded from 1.06 to 1.08, my RAID array lived to tell the tale.  Yes, I did have backup, but I didn't need it. :D
