Check any temp folders to see if they are there.
Are you given an option to point export files too? If so, what location you have it pointed to?

Checked all temp & New Folders no avi files. Yes I am given the option to select export to -> Desktop.
In the export dialog it shows the previous files that i can't see on the desktop all have file sizes.

Be sure that your Windows Explorer is set up to not hid any file types on the desktop...

Nothing is hidden.

Ensure all security PC programs are disabled. I wouldn't think generation of .AVI files should be a concern however anything is possible.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

No other known fixes?

Copy the filename into your text buffer.

And then search for it at c:\

I guess this assumes you have access to all of c:\

It ends up in some virtualized folder that looks like My Documents\Username, but it is pretty deep.

There REALLY needs to be a fix in the logic for the DNR-202L.
