Title: 720 by default?
Post by: freitasm on September 28, 2020, 06:24:07 PM
IS it just me or it seems this camera is 720 by default - you have to connect to the stream and manually switch to 1080 if you want higher resolution?

Yes the new version of the app does that. It is for viewing only and you can change it to 1080. Wish it saved tho...

When recording to cloud or SD card, it will record in 1080 (or highest resolution the camera supports).

Statement from D-Link:
For the optimal bandwidth, the live streams resolution is always 720P by default. 720P requires less uplink bandwidth and gives better connection quality. Whenever in portrait or landscape mode, users can manually switch to 1080P in order to have more details, if the Internet bandwidth allows.

For better recording quality, all recordings stored to the cloud or local SD card are 1080P.
